Super Bowl Party Games!

Get up and move around at the party with games.  The last thing we want is for our guests to come, drink and sit on their butts for four hours!  Chances are, you won't get them up off that couch when its time to go home!!  So get them up and moving around with some fun Super Bowl Games.  I'll start of with a fun game for the "Under age crowd" actually the over age crowd will enjoy this game too!  Good half time game!

Out door Football Toss

Purchase two hula hoops at your local dollar store or Walmart.  Have the kids line up into two teams.  Next have an adult hold a hula hoop a few feet from each child at the front of each line.  The first child has to throw the football through the hoop.  Then, for the next child, move the hula hoop another foot back and repeat until the distance gets challenging.  Whichever team throws the most balls through the hoops wins.

For prizes have goodie baskets made up with popcorn, pretzels, soda (all the healthy stuff!) or give nerf footballs to the kids.  Depending on the ages of the kids, you might want to give the losing team a gift too!  Maybe give the winning team first choice of prize.

Beer Commercial Game

Obviously for the 21 and over crowd at your party!  Serve the most popular kinds of beer, the ones that pay  millions to advertise on Super Bowl Sunday!!  When a particular beer commercial comes on and someone in the room is drinking that particular beer, they win and they have to do a shot, or you can choose to give them a prize instead.   You can even change it up to where that person can pick a person to do a shot.  Have fun and be creative with this game.

Trivia

Trivia is always great fun.  Don't forget prizes!

So here is a little, or a lot, of football History for you to make your trivia game:

It's hard to believe it's been more than 40 years!
The very first Super Bowl was played in 1967. Yep. It was at the Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles on January 15 (seems early--but these are the facts). Who played? Well, the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League and the Kansas City Chiefs of the American Football League went at it and the Packers blew the Chiefs away with an impressive 35-10 victory.
How did it come to be? "On August 14, 1959, Dallas businessman, Lamar Hunt, called for the formation of the American Football League. This league was organized and began play in 1960. Others in football thought the idea of the new conference was so crazy that the teams that formed this new conference were referred to as the 'Foolish Club.'
"As it turns out, this newly founded American Football League had a profound effect on pro football. On June 8 of 1966, the AFL and the NFL announced a merger. At the end of the 1966 season these new conferences played against each other in the first ever Super Bowl."
And the rest is history. And now it is a tradition. Over 22,000,000 TVs are tuned into the Super Bowl and of these 22,000,000 households, 13.5 million are having parties. These figures are, of course, pure fiction. But I wanted to emphasize the importance of celebrating the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl XIX, January 20, 1985... The San Francisco 49'ers beat Miami, 38 to 16.  Played at Stanford Stadium.  I was there!!  I sat on the fifty yard line two rows below Tony Bennett, who was surrounded by women!!  Dad was coaching at Stanford at the time and was given three tickets.  My sister Jan and her husband Pat sat on the other side of the field in the end zone.  I was the lucky one and had no problem going alone to sit on the fifty yard line!!  I met so many people, and it was a memory that will last a life time for me!  Here is my proof!  I sure wish I could fit into that jacket again!!

Okay, sorry, enough of my walk down memory lane....  now for some more Trivia  facts for you to use at your party:
