When one door closes another will soon open...

For all that has been, thanks...
for all that will be, YES!!

It saddens me to say goodbye to Homemade Gourmet.  I have been with this company now for 8 years and have enjoyed everything about it.  The food was amazing, the company was all about family, and I loved sharing a good product with my friends and family!

Homemade Gourmet has decided to merge with Tastefully Simple, so if you are looking to continue to mail order particular mixes, you may want to take a look at Tastefully Simple.  I have not yet decided if I am going to join on as a consultant for TS or not at this time.  Taking this month to just enjoy friends and family and not think about other obligations.  But I will keep you posted through my blog what my next adventure will be!  I am looking forward to new beginnings for sure!

This summer has been amazing so far... I traveled by myself (for the first time ever) all the way to Old Forge New York to see my sweet friend Leslie.  I spent a week with Leslie and her awesome family.  They were wonderful hosts and I will for sure be heading back one day soon.  Leslie and I did lots of shopping in some wonderful small and friendly towns, we took long walks and had lots of coffee mornings in our p.j's.  It rained the entire time I was there, but it did not matter as it was just fun being with my long time friend for more then two hours a year!  We talked, we laughed, we ate and we drank Big Daddy E's wonderful Gin and Tonics every evening!  Guess what ladies...  Big Daddy E, even helps with cooking!!  He grilled some amazing chicken while Leslie outdid herself as usual in the kitchen with Salmon, Smokin Mac and Cheese and some outstanding breakfasts.  All of which you may find on her wonderful Sugar and Spice blog.  (see the blogs I follow for Leslies blog)

My trip to Old Forge brought me new friendships as well.  My trip with Leslie to Old and Everlasting was so wonderful.  What a shop.  If you love primitive and country, check her site out.  She also has a blog that you will find by going to the Blogs I follow.  Marianne and her husband were so lovely and even gave us a private viewing of the Barn Sale that we were a week early for.  That my friends was a blast.  We shopped in the barn all by ourselves!  I was like a kid in a candy shop!  Had to remember that I only had one medium size suitcase!  They did tell me they could ship... but I thought that Brad might kill me if a big package showed up with lots of goodies in it before I did!!  lol  But I was inspired by this shop and by Leslie's lovely home with lots of decorating ideas!

This trip for me was so needed.  I was able to recharge myself, which all moms and wives should be aloud to do once a year!  I came back so refreshed and ready for what reality throws my way next!  It's been a difficult year of medical issues with myself and the kids... so the break away from all that was wonderful.  It was good to just sit and talk with Leslie, who also deals with auto-immune illness.  We understand each others trials and discomforts and are able to support each other through some tough times.  After all, that is what friends do.  I have been blessed with wonderful people in my life, and for that, I am truly thankful.  All one needs in life are good friends and time for each other!  Don't keep putting things off.... we never know what tomorrow will bring.

"The happiness of life is made up of little things -- A smile, a helping hand, a caring heart, a word of praise, a moment of shared laughter.  We are most alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures"

I am not sure what this blog will bring next...  maybe just life itself, maybe some inspiration, maybe laughter!!  Stay tuned my friends!!  Love, peace and blessings!
